Rob, I'm glad you mentioned the coloured lights and the revolving mirror balls on the ceiling because they seem to be in vogue. When I last visited the UK, I met up with a high school mate of mine. She stayed in a hotel that looked just like the interior of this Phaeton. It was one of those chic, new-style hotels. I thought it was hideous. Say, what's up with that movie-theatre purple in the interior of stretch limousines? Is that a hip and cool colour?
The SUV-based, super-long limos are even more disgraceful. Didn't a vehicle with such proportions used to be called a freakin' bus?
The 600 (W100) Pullman four-door is the most tasteful limousine from the past. The Peugeot 604 Heuliez would be up there on my list also. Today, I would call the Bentley Arnage with the 728 mm extension the most tasteful. What can I say? I normally don't like limousines that are extended in the middle of the bodywork, but it's better than nothing. For limousine, I always prefer to have an extension behind the rear passenger door. I'd like to see a limousine version of the Citroen C6 that looks like the CX Prestige!
The second pic below is a scale model and the pic is not the best, but I like the two-tone red. It reminded me of the Queen Mum's Claret Daimler DS420. I've seen an Arnage RL show car in the same colours and it looks better than the model picture.
