Exclamation Panamera Option List = Financial apocalypse

I guess my worst nightmare has come true, the Panamera is uber expensive. Several of the options like parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, 6CD exchanger, 19 inch rims and adaptive light system are standard on the S600. Having scnned the list for a few minutes it's clear that a well equipped Panamera Turbo won't be very far from the S65 AMG or Bentley Flying Spur in terms of price. So far the preview resports have been excellent but the full reviews better be damn good or else sales will suffer.

I noticed that, too! I expected some things like park assist and thermosomething glasses to be standard on such a car! Even Saab 9-3 has them standard!

That's nothing. Floor mats are €150 while they charge a stupid 550 for bluetooth functionality. A bloody 3.5mm jack to plug in any random mp3player is charged at €95. Only AIG execs and bankers with shady bonuses will agree to robbery of this kind. Rear side airbags are not standard which is preposterous for a performance monster like this.

Those huge prices for essential extras (see floor mats) are a good way for some easy money for Porsche.

It has worked on the 911 but I doubt it will work on the Panamera in a time period when people spend their money very wisely. I just took a look at Mercedes's web page and the S600 has every single option you can imagine adaptive lights, parking sensor, satnat/TV, air suspension, automatic bootlid, ventilated front and rear seats. All standard with no more boxes to tick.

It is just ridiculous charging for the most basic of features.
Anyways, this car is ugly. I would never get it.

I guess thats that. Porsche would easily loose interested customers like me for those prices, I guess we are not asking for much if we are willing to pay that huge amount. Yes there is no other car in the market as sporty as porsche panamera but sorry, I ll have to pass if those prices are the real deal here in UAE.

By changing avatar I'm officially putting the Panamera fanclub flamesuit in the basement. Porsche has achieved extraordinary engineering but in this instance their greed will be their weakness.

I simply hate when products are not optimal off the rack and the Panamera is a prime example of that. In order for the Panamera S to accelerate from 0-100km/h in 5.0 seconds you need to buy PDK and Sports Chrono Plus. Other compulsory options for the "full" sport experience is the adaptive air suspension and Porsche dynamic control, and they aren't exactly cheap options. Sport exhaust is another 2k if you want the car to sound like it's fast.

Sure the Panamera is unique and all but a decked out Panamera Turbo will go for €160 000 which is a lot of money, and unfortunately the exterior design isn't worth that much. For that cash I can buy an S550 and a Cayman S with many options ticked. Does the Panamera Turbo beat having those two cars in the garage? No, especially when the M5 is just over €80 000.

I don't blame you for passing on this one Mo.
