![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Indeed it does. They both have the exactsame asking price but the difference is that the is absolutley bare. Add options to level with the S63 and the Porsche will very quickly be in the range of 150-160k. Stripped out interiors work for sportscars but not giant luxury cars with an already high asking price. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | This is nothing new for a Porsche so I don't see what the fuss is about. Porsche always has more options than even Mercedes-Benz. M

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | This is just more of the German's trying to shaft everyone for more money than it's worth. Damn...Porsche is acting like Apple now, nickle and diming for everything.

![]() | Considering you can option a Boxster to almost 3x its base price, I'm not surprised that the Panamera is going to have some expensive options. Options are where the real money is for the manufacturer. How do you think Porsche raised enough money to buy a majority stake in VW?

Obviously it works for these premium brands as both Apple and Porsche are far from going out of business and also are probably the best examples in their respective industries. Optional extras are where they make their margins. Now sometimes the cost of these options maybe be dis-proportionate i.e the price of memory upgrades at apple compared to what you can get at your local discount electronics store, i think that's the real issue, do you want it factory or aftermarket in both cases - which can be answered by looking at convenience more than anything else and the degree of customization you want. What would be interesting to know is how many customers forgo a lot of these optional extras from factory, as both these and other premium brands support healthy after market suppliers.

What top of the line features are you talking about? Navigation still isn't standard in most cars and usually is a $1000 option. I can go to Wal-Mart and pick up a better navi than what most companies offer. As for apple being able to do it. Fanboys are f__king retarded, the will pay for anything. Besides the fanboys, EVERYONE criticized apple for not even adding "copy and paste" to the iphone. Fanboys said "who needs it?" Now that it has finally arrived the same fanboys are saying "WOOT, iphone is the best." Moral of the story, there will be more than enough dumbasses in the world who will pay for stuff that they should've gotten. That is where the phrase "more money than brains" comes to mind. I and many others in the world aren't stupid and don't like to be ripped off. Once again, if you like to pay for things you should've gotten regardless, then be my guest. But please just stop making excuses for these companies and giving them a reason to charge us more money.
