Thumbs up Autocar: Porsche Panamera Turbo test drive.(Scans)

"Walter Rörhl has set the fastest ring time for a four door car in the Panamera.", We'll publish the numbers later but I can tell you that they're far better than most sports car."

-Weight distribution is 48/52.
-Lowest center of gravity in the four door category.
-Sitting position only 30mm higher than in a 911.

This car is bananas, it looks so wrong but manage to accomplish the impossible. Can't wait to test drive it, the car is from outer space and I fully approve of the copper colour and the brilliantly designed interior. Expect it to win millions of awards. It still puzzle me that it accelerates faster than a Lamborghini Gallardo. So unreal.

I don't doubt that this car will be a major hit for Porsche. Porsche has become minor, full-service brand.

A bit hit indeed. Besides the exterior design there is nothing else to complain about. The two cars what will be hit hardest is the M5 and Quattroporte. Despite the premium price tag, the Panamera is actually cheaper than the Quattroporte and give you more for your money.

Porsche are saying that it's significantly faster around the ring than most sports cars. And by sports cars they must mean the 997S, AMV8 and the R8 since everything else below that is roadsters like the Boxster and high performance GTs like the M3. So the lap time must be in the low 7.50 region. It's safe to say that the M5 might have been dethroned as the best performance saloon in the world. That is if BMW's M-Studio isn't working overtime as the pressure is on them right now.

^^ I actually like it... a lot.
I'msure it's gonna be very impressive IRL given the very unusual, wide and long and low proportions!
