May I be as bold as to ask what it costs to maintain a 600. Where do you source parts?

Thanks all. Not that expenseive once you replace aging parts. It's like maintaining any car on a routine basis. Replacement parts can still be found from independents like Karl or Mercedes-Benz.

Good ole' Karl still working on those '600s, eh? I first heard of him in Mercedes Enthusiast magazines.

Love his creation, the Benzomio W100 Pickup.

Oh yeah, just found this on Autozeitung. Apparently this was Leonid Breschnew's '66 Mercedes 600 and it was sold for a starting bid price of 52,500 Euros. Eventually the bids went as high as 80,300. Whether Breschnew actually drove the car is unclear since the car was discovered having been registered to the KGB.

Potsdam - An diesem Freitag endet die Internet- Versteigerung eines mehr als 40 Jahre alten Mercedes 600 aus dem Fuhrpark des früheren Kreml-Herrschers Leonid Breschnew. Die spektakuläre Auktion war Anfang Januar mit dem Mindestgebot von 52 500 Euro gestartet. Am Donnerstagnachmittag lag das höchste Gebot bei 80 300 Euro. Der 1966 gebaute Wagen wird im Auftrag des Finanzamts Potsdam-Stadt versteigert, das den Wagen vor einigen Jahren gepfändet hatte. Es sei nicht nachweisbar, dass Breschnew das Auto selbst benutzt habe, räumte ein Sprecher des Finanzministeriums ein. Der Wagen sei aber auf den Geheimdienst KGB in Moskau zugelassen gewesen.
