Tom Clancy, John Grisham, Robert Ludlum....I like them a lot. Stephen King too btw, I have read almost all his books (The Dark Tower series is quite cool!)
The very best has to be Tolkien though. LOTR books are pure magic.
Some Dutch writers you've never heard about, so I am not going to bother with them.

I really don't have any particular favourite author, but I like the Harry Potter books.
One book I think everybody should read is 'A Fine Balance' by R.K. Mistry. It's a very dark and disturbing book based loosely on the Indian period of emergency in the 1970's. I was really hesitant intially to read it for my IB coursework, but I must say now that I've read it, it comes in my list of top 10 books ever!
