Is anyone buying stocks? - 10-26-2006, 03:55 PM

I've always bought stocks and enjoyed buying them. I bought my first when I was like 10 years-old. It was a company named Hercules! I made a nice profit on it too. It went from $40 in the summer of '91 to $180 by '95. Of course, I didn't hold it all the way hold. I bought and sold constantly, but I stupidly sold for the last time when it hit $100 and didn't buy it back again.

So what does everyone think? I admit I'm baffled to see stock prices keep going up. The Dow Jones is at an all-time high. The Hong Kong Hang Seng made a new all-time high. Japan is rebounding.

I just don't see why everyone thinks everything is rosy. The valuations of internet companies are crazy (again). Chinese banks and Asian stocks in general are being hyped to the moon. Who here is buying?

Not me, I've been out of it for a couple of years now. Put the money in property for a change. So far a good move.

I have invested with a friend in the past. It is something that I would like to do again, but at times become afraid at attempting to undersand all the variables that go into the stock market.
