I was also very pre-occupied with philosophies years ago when I had time on my hands. Nowadays, with my totally changed life-situation I have not had time to immerse myself with anything more profound. Nowadays my needs are to have something light to balance the current burdens and responsiblities I have.
This is also one reason you have not seen me post in Rob's object threads etc. Years ago I would have been all over them.
At highschool I came across Rudolf Steiner's philosophy of Freedom (a book) and the rest of his Anthroposophical work. I have been very involved in Anthroposophy over the years and only had to stop a few years ago when I became, by default, a caregiver to my wife who was stricken with a chronic illness.
Anyhow, my exposure to Anthroposophy made me want to choose Philosophy as one of my subjects when entering Abo Akademi, a local university in my hometown.
The philosophy study years were very rewarding and worthwhile. Maybe one day I can excercise my thinking as a cognitive organ again.
