I felt the same way until my pc started to crash all the time...despite firewalls/ spyware....you name it.
So last year I went out and got an G5 i-Mac, loaded it up w. extra memory-
and I got a 30gb i-Pod photo to go with it. I have a fairly big rock and jazz collection (60's jazz and alt. rock) and loaded them into the i-pod along with 200+ photos from my i-photo cache. I also got an Altec-Lansing IM-7 i-pod boombox that really kicks.
The i-Pod...and all MP3 players are so cool. You can program your player for a variety of different moods or just let it shuffle thru on its own. I rarely download music from i-tunes because of it's relatively low fidelity...tho some people don't seem to mind it or notice it. Right now I have 2078 songs on it..including symphonys, long jazz cuts, etc- and I'm at the halfway point in available memory.
The unfortunate thing is that only the newest cars have a line in somewhere on the dashboard for MP3's...to convert my BMW costs around $200-250- which is a real pain in the butt...and I've put off doing anything about it.
But anyway- once you have one- it pays for itself in fun. I'm listening to music and enjoying it a lot more than when I was just playing cd's.
And I'll never go back to pc now that I'm using Apple- that was the real revelation for me. Stable systems- super easy to use. And their design looks so great.
