The only thing that I can't understand is how come Poland scores so high. Not to say that Poles are stupid or anything, but the rest of the countries at the top have had a high level of education for quite some time, whereas Poland, during the Cold War era, to my knowledge did not. Makes one wonder how the tests were conducted.
Wait for 15 to 20 years and we will be.
There are many older people in Finland with only a basic education, which is definitely reflected on those results.
I tried to find some information on the testing methods but couldn't find any. However, if those figures are supposed to be valid in any way they must have asked quite a few people from different age groups, social classes etc.
What I did find is that the guy behind this study is associated with the Finnish Prime Minister's father whose ideas about the intelligence of different races (rightfully) caused heated discussion here some years back.
Whatever the case, the validity of this type of material is always open to discussion and the results should not be taken too seriously.
