I've been to France numerous times and while my parents and my sister have eaten this stuff, I never had the courage to try it. I'm sorry, but when I think of snails, I loose my appetite: even if they're cooked in a delicious butter & garlic sauce! No offence to any French people here, but I guess I am just a wimp.

That stupid server apparently changed the image to something sick. People were telling me that it wasn't escargot but "something else". Yet, I could only see the escargot picture...stupid server. Think we should report them?

Hmm... interesting thread with pictures I'm glad I didn't get to see.

Escargots? People who like them tell me that they need to be fresh and correctly prepared to taste good. I've only tried the canned variety and can't say that I loved 'em. I hope to try them again in one of the 'better' restaurants some time. Generally speaking I don't have that many hang-ups about eating foods that some people find disgusting, as long as they're properly prepared. Although I have to admit I didn't try grasshopper when I visited Thailand.
