| To loose a pet... -

Hi fellaz. I'm so sad so I have to write myself of a bit.
It's been a long time since my tears were falling down my chin as they do in this very moment... It's so hard to hold back.... It hurts so much... Even though these tears are cause of a little creature... it was a also a life....
My wonderful hamster Benji that Ive had for onlt one year, got sick some days ago... He was worse and worse day by day... Today I couldn't stand seing him in the condition he was.. It broke my heart... I had to go to the vet... Even though it was quite expencive...First I cared about the cost, but then I said !"#¤%& it... It's my friend we are talking about here.... my lovely little friend... oh it's so hard writing this....
So I went to the vet...and when she hold him and look at his eyes...he was so tired.... so thin.... It was heartbraking to see.... he was struggling so much.... So she said that it was very little hope left, and asked me if I wanted to put him to sleep... and I said yes... cause I couldnt stand seeing him like that any more... he was in such pain...
And then she put him back to his cage...as if he had heard me.... he just fell on the side... with his eyes open.... and..... he just died.... right in front of me.... it hurts so much.... it was a horrible vision.... it was so heartbreaking...
I've had pets and hamsters before, but when each of them died, it was when I woke up one morning and they were dead.... but this.... this is horrible.... I saw him die.... he was looking at me when he died...
No smiley or anything can describe the pain I'm feeling now.... | | | | | Fanatic

Sorry to hear about this Audiholic. And unfortunately I think you'll be sad for a long time, but maybe there's some solace in thinking that you spared him more suffering.
It's been a long time since I lost a pet. It was a dog in South Africa and I know these things hurt just as much as losing a relative.
Right now I have 3 dogs and 3 cats and 2 of the dogs are getting pretty old. They are a wolf/German Shephard mix who is 14, but she's not too bad yet. But the 13 year old German Shephard has just about no use of his back legs anymore and I have to carry him out (120 pounds/55kg) and back in again. They are indoor dogs. Also I have to support him to get up and go drink water. So, I know the time is coming soon, how soon I don't know. But I still think I'll wait until he dies a natural death. I don't think I could take him to the vet to be put to sleep. But who knows how this develops.
But anyway. I am sorry about your loss....

This is kind of a coincidence, my little algie eater just died this morning! I don't know, it was so random.
(not that it compares with your hamster, sorry to hear about that!) | | | | | Connoisseur

My cat didn't come home for the last 2 days, we were getting kinda worried that someone might have taken it away, or my maid sold it away. The ideas we had were quite radical because strange things happen to animals in Singapore. Some cruel people skin animals alive, leave unprotected puppies and young cats outside alone, and sometimes just kick animals out of their house. Luckily, Max our cat came back today, totally clean and as good as ever. We were really relieved.
Sorry to hear your loss. I had lost 3 cats as well, and had the same feeling of loneliness... One died in a car crash, two died of feline leukemia. | | | | | Devotee

Hold on man...I know how it is to loose a pet, I've lost few dogs and one hamster ran away from me. I loved them all, I also cried, it's really hard.
I decided not to have pets anymore, but my sister got a dog...I love him but not on the way I liked the others..I'm trying not to love him so much because I know I'll be fu<ked up for a long time if I loose him. | | | | | Advocate

Wow, not to be an insensitive arsehole, but you're crying over a hamster?
I dunno, maybe I just have a cold heart, but crying over a rodent seems bit too much for me.
But, nevertheless, I'm sorry about your loss.
My dog has trudged through 8 long, hard years. It has skin allergies, it has had cancer two times, 3 worms, run away once, stolen twice and has been bitten by a German Shepard. But it's alright, she's still with us and as cute as ever.
The only time I've experienced a pet loss is when my free goldfish, named Fish (so creative), died because I had run out of food and never bothered to buy anymore. But, this was when I was 6, so you can understand why I kind of intentionally starved the bugger to death. | | | | | Aficionado
