Yes, half of the test is in a circuit. It'll involve some basic driving and obeying traffic rules. Most people fail here because of the parking involved. Three types - parallel, directional change and 90 degree parking. The road tests are to see how confident you are in the real world. How to change lane, how to handle traffic, how to deal with situations etc... A pass is committing less than 20 demerit points worth of mistakes. A simple thing like not giving way at a pedestrian crossing, immediate failure. Car dies halfway, 4 points. Car slips on a slope, 4 points, You get my drift...

It's more of the wait rather than the difficulty. The government purposely makes it tedious for us to pass because there are way too many cars on the road.
Hmm, in army I get trained to ride a bike, not drive a car.
