I have been posting for roughly a year now and I must say that this is one of the best online communities on the internet today. We all obviously share the same passion for cars, namely those from European countries. The diversity of opinions and more importantly, the understanding of opinion is what sets this forum apart. BMW, Mercedes Benz and Audi fans have united to discuss, the past, the present and he future of the irrespective companies. As a BMW fan, I am happy to keep abreast of the future of the company. As a Mercedes Benz advocate, I am more than pleased to see the future direction they are taking and the comparison that can be made between the directions each company is headed towards.
But the site also offers a lot more then car talk. I was sceptical at first as to how I would be accepted. But the warmth and friendliness that is on offer within this community is outstanding and irrespective of my opinion, I never feel negative connotations towards my posts.
I have found myself using this forum as a means of cooling off after a hard day’s work. Often, I will come home, have dinner, and sit at the table on my laptop pretending to do work as my wife watches television when in actual fact I’m reading today’s posts and news on GermanCarZone. Even at work, when I have a break between operations, a meeting or even consultations, I quickly log onto GCZ to see what’s happening.
As one of only a select few Australian members, I have tried my best to open up the world of the Australian automotive industry by posting important news and reviews on our locally made vehicles. We may be a small automotive country, but we also offer some world class vehicles such as the Ford Falcon and the Holden Commodore.
To finish I would like to say a thank you to all members at GCZ. Each and every single one of us combines to make this such a great automotive community. It isn’t everywhere that you can discuss topics that interest you with people over 4000 kilometres away. The diversity and people, opinions and cultures are what make GCZ such a special place. I hope to be around and posting for another enjoyable year... | | | | | The Following 26 Users Say Thank You to CorpusCallosum For This Useful Post: | Bartek Sikorski (05-07-2008), Beemer B773ER (05-06-2008), bmer (05-06-2008), BMW_Dude (05-06-2008), Bruce (05-07-2008), cawimmer430 (05-06-2008), Centurion (05-06-2008), coolraoul (05-06-2008), DaSilva (05-06-2008), DeDe (05-06-2008), EnI (05-06-2008), far2000 (05-06-2008), GBOY (05-06-2008), JadeVetti (05-08-2008), Merc1 (05-06-2008), mercmad (05-07-2008), Monster (05-06-2008), phaeton (05-06-2008), ree (05-06-2008), SDNR (05-07-2008), Sunny (05-06-2008), The Artist (05-06-2008), Tycoon (05-06-2008), VroomVroom (05-06-2008), Yaz (05-06-2008), Zonda (05-06-2008) | | Contributor

I agree, this is the best placing going for discussion of European, specifically German cars. I didn't think I'd get over my previous forum home (Edmunds) so quickly.

Wonderful post my friend and fellow GCZ addict. Thank you for your contributions in the past year in both car and non car related topics, and it is always good to have another active aussie member to talk about the local events. | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to Monster For This Useful Post: | | | The Photo Phanatic

I love this place and the open-minded members we have here. Most importantly the mutual respect that goes around her for individual members (no matter what brand they like or prefer) and different cars.
Oh yeah, I am very busy these days so expect to see me online here less and less for some time. | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to cawimmer430 For This Useful Post: | | | Fanatic

It has been a good year. Good to come as well. We need to decide upon the replacement for my 5 Series. Open playing field... Quote:

Oh yeah, I am very busy these days so expect to see me online here less and less for some time. | Very true. I've had a few half days and RDO the last couple of weeks so I've had more time then usual to post. Expect less of me for awhile as it is coming up to winter so the hospital will be at full capacity and I'll be running many extra shifts to help the clogged Emergency Rooms... And I need to get ontop of my waiting list. It just keeps growing... | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to CorpusCallosum For This Useful Post: | | | Devotee

I have a select few criteria:
I want to be comfortable after a long days work. Comfortbale seat, good interior, and comfortable ride.
Style is important.
Good boot space for my golf clubs fand for luggage when I go oversea's etc
I need ample power. When I get paged at 3am with a level 3 critical patient, I need to be at the hospital extremely quickly. Where talking speed limits don't apply on the highway. I have been pulled over once only to have a police escort to the hospital. One of the many highlights of my career so far!!!
Automatic. After a 16-20 hr working day I am much to tired to change gears.
I really do prefer BMW. But am willing to look outside because I'm after the best car for me...
Sat Nav, and all the bells and whistles are good. I like a good sound system.
Exciting and sporty drive as well as comfortable. I don't think I will find anything better then the 5 Series at this.
Thats really all I look for...
It is going to be a tough choice....

Great post, CC. Thanks!
I'll just say that 5 out of 7 days i'm online almost 12 hours a day (with little breaks). 10 hours at work every day, plus later in the evening. Mostly Monday to Friday, 'cause over the weekend i'm spending my time with kids, playing football, visiting my friends, playing cards, etc, so that's why i'm not full week active.
That tells you what i think and feel about this site. GCZ FTW!!! | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to Tycoon For This Useful Post: | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | |
