I know you'll take plenty of Mercedes pictures, but a lot of Audi pics would be nice too. Throw in some non-US cars like the Seats and some Zondas. Please, thank you.

Thanks.
My memory card is 2 GB so that won't be a problem. I'm more worried about battery power since I might need to use a lot of flash. I also need a better lens, like a telephoto lens for example. | | | | | Expert

what would you use telephoto for? they're obviously a lot harder to keep still, generally have a higher maximum aperture and cost a freaking lot for a nice one with IS (which you'll want for indoor?). Also with the constricted environment of a car show I would've thought they'd be far from ideal.. for indoor shooting consider something like the Sigma 30mm f/1.4?... nice fast indoor lens, standard 50mm prime lens film equivalent, not too expensive... - ONLY REGISTERED AND ACTIVATED USERS CAN SEE ALL LINKS - CLICK HERE TO REGISTER

Thanks again for the HDR help mate | Yep, I will need to shoot with a higher ISO setting. I'm not a fan of flash myself but sometimes, just sometimes it makes for good photos. The noise level with my Nikon D40 at high ISO settings isn't actually that bad. You can tell it's a "bit grainy" but when I resize the images from 1504 x 1000 to a smaller value and lightly sharpen it a lot of the graininess "disappears".
I would love to have a couple of different lenses. Telephoto lenses allow for creative photography and I believe have an inherently better zoom than a wide-angle lens. I also carry with me a new tripod, a mini-tripid that I can extend to about 1.5 meters in height and in compact form is less than a foot long. It's going to be useful for the car show. That Sigma lens looks good. I really need to save up for a more powerful lens (zoom wise).
Regarding the HDR, anytime. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
