I was just wondering who would support the idea of a post or image etc of the month sought of thing??? So that quality posts and posters are acknowledged for what they ad to this forum.

Anyone like this idea? ANy ideas on how we could make it work etc..

I think it would be a great inclusion to really make obvious the great posts and posters on this site. We could all decided together who is the best...

Not a bad idea. COuld lead to favouing and conflict but - Would be good to single out the great posts that we sometimes miss however.

Perhaps someone else must nominate the quote or post!!! Keep it fair???

Could make it as a poll, maybe, with a rule that says you can't nominate one of your own post.

A bit like it was for the GCZ Car of the year: limited time, some propositions at the beginning (maybe by the moderators), and everybody is free to choose another post he find to be the best of the month...

After that period of time (maybe one week, let say for instance the first week of each month), we see the post whith the most votes.

However, i don't know if it really is a good idea, because there already is the Karma, Thanks and Reputation thing.

We should not turn this forum into a competition imo.

Furthermore, I see a lot of excellent posts from a lot of persons here, and I hit the Thanks/Karma button to mark my approbation or my opinion that this is a good post. And I never would be able to choose one and say "this is the best post of the month".

I think this post of the month is not needed at all.

I would say that I am against that idea.
But it is always good to have new ideas and to think about them! It would allow everybody to see the great post even if you did not saw them because they are in a thread you did not visit...

So maybe not THE best post, but a section with the post that you find particularly interesting... The "best posts section"...Where you could put the post you found very interesting, with a little story about why it was posted, where and why, and a link to find the thread...
because it is right to sometimes, a thread "drifts" a bit, the discussion take unforseen direction, and finally it is spoken about something that is not directly connected to the title; not really offtopic but a development of the discussion. This could allow everybody to take part to the discussion, even if he did not saw it because the title did not inspire him!

This is an interesting idea, worth thinking to it. It deserves a Thanks, Power!

So does everyone want to try coolraouls idea of a section were we can post great posts that we may miss! Just so we can read them not from a competitive point of view?
