Yeah that's looks like a mid engine car, not to mention the vents on the rear deck. How awesome, this should give the MX5 a run for its money.

re: Volkswagen Concept BlueSport

This is not a VW. It looks more like a Renault, or Acura.

Just change the badges & the grille ... voila!

*****

Btw, PAH is really hyper active in this segment ... Cayman / Boxster, R4 / R4 Spyder, and now this VW mid-engine roadster (with possible hardotp variant as well).

Who the h..l will buy a VW mid-engine roadster?????

R4 makes more sense - a baby-R8, and a poor-man's Cayman / Boxster. But a VW mid-engine small car. C'mon.

VW better make an affordable S2000 / Miata rival. Unless this will be it - making a small mid-engine platform more profitable due eceonomy of scales - putting R4 / new Boxster & Cayman on the same platform as well.

PAH is walking on very thin line of badge engineering ... didn't work in GM case. Will it work in PAH's case? Who knows ...

This car = Miata, BMW Z2, MR2
Boxster, TT = Z4, S2000

This car can certainly be successful as the Miata currently hardly has any proper competition.

I'm sorry Eni, but as an BMW advocate are you really going to go there? You'd surely defend BMW platform use in a Rolls-Royce (RR4) and Mini (their crossover thingie), but not in the case of PAG? Using the same platform does not necessarily mean the same car in different sheet metal, as many things that define driving characteristics can be interchangeable, especially in modern, modular platforms. As much as we'd all like our premium brands to have everything unique about them, you'd of all people admit the current climate of cost cutting does not allow this.

Well, in that case. I hope that they do and then VW can use that knowledge to make this car fun to drive. Which would be good because then this car will be a baby porsche on a budget.

If they can get it out by the time I'm out of college, I'd love to compare it to the MX-5. This car looks hot hot hot!
