I'm so happy Australia is third on the list of markets.

VW Australia is actually playing a very important part in the development of this vehicle; not in engineering terms but as in specs etc.

Our market has the potential for 5000 units annually plus South Africa and the UK I'd estimate that 20 thousand of the 90 thousand units will be RHD specified.

Depends where you live
In Australia, South Africa, South America and Thailand vehicles of this type are in high demand because they're used as both workhorses and recreational vehicles.

As for US sales, they've refused the pickup for the US market.

Considering the Toyota Hilux did top the sales chart once this year, there is certainly a big market for this VW in Australia, however I am not sure if VW has that reliable, durable and cheap to maintain reputation that Toyota enjoys in Australia.

Imho it looks pretty nice. Let's hope it won't suffer from any significant reliability problems.
