I'm leaning towards Jetta VI due to the roofline looking very similar to Jetta V. Interesting to see Phaeton styling on the Jetta ![]() | |

Volkswagen will give a Phaeton esque treatment in the back and at the front, but the current Jetta profile will remain the same. So this is not an entirely new car, is just a major nip/tuck then?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Jetta VI Spyshots The only way I could see the booted Golf models to catch-up in the European market, would be: - Give a decent name for crying out loud! Just call it the Golf Saloon, Passat Junior or even Baby Phaeton if that's the case. But please! Enough of copied, weird and uninspiring names. Bora was a nice car, but an affront to the Maserati sportscar of the seventies, Jetta is a name created by a computer...how mind-blowingly naff and unimaginative is that? and Vento means Wind in portuguese...VW really was bored to tears with the last one. - Give a properly imposing and sporty styling. The Bora is so far the best looking of all booted Golfs. The current Jetta is classy. But you can't help thinking, they carried the same stigma of the old and monumentally dull Vento and the ugly original Jetta. And let's face it, the Bora was graceful but it was nothing to write about and the Jetta will not age very gracefully. - Make a properly hot sporty 4WD version to compete with the likes of WRX STi, EVO V. Volkswagen is the manufacturer that build the 253 Mph car. I'm pretty sure it would NOT be too difficult for them to make a hot compact saloon to compete with these two Japanese compact road-rockets. Don't get me wrong. By no means I'm saying the Jetta, Vento, Bora and Jetta again, were or are bad cars. Oh no! They are fine cars...but sadly always forgotten.
