What are your thoughts on this upcoming Mercedes-benz Model?



Questions:

Will the vehicle be a hit?

Is it needed?

Do you think it will be better then the SLR?

Should the Audi R8 be worried?

I like the fact that the SLC name is coming back. I don`t however want to see an evolution of the long-nosed SLR. Don`t get me wrong, I still love the SLR.
This new model should be smaller and lighter than the SLR. The design shouldn`t be as extreme either. (closer to the SL in fact.)

Does Mercedes plan on introducing this along with a supposed Gulling in the near future, whats the point.

Wow, that's a very sexy PS. I haven't seen it before. The evolution of the SLR nose look fantastic, I'm only worried about the front end though. Personally I think the SLC is a superb idea. The SLR war lovely but now we have entered a new era where people want affordable super car in the 100-150k price range.

While Lexus, BMW and Audi will be selling their affordable super cars the coming years MB can't afford to stand by and watch, they have got to engage.

Ofcourse it will be a hit..it will sell..as most other hot super cars do..

and yes its needed..cause the SLR is done now..and MB should ALWAYS have a supercar on sale imo

Yes it will be better than SLR..cause they can not make a car worse than the previous generation..that is impossible

R8 should be worried..as this seems to be a new era for AMG..where they focus on sporty drive.. and on top of that its HWA.. and those folks are pretty darn serious

Love that PS,so sexy and aggressive but don't like the fact that it looks so much like the SLR,we need something new and fresh!

It is way to early to form any opinions on this car. We have no clue (that photo surely ain't it!) what this car will be like in looks of or performance. I do like the idea of a R8/911/F430/Gallardo fighting Mercedes built by HWA, because lets face it the SLR hasn't lived up to the hype. No doubt it will be better than the SLR, that is a given. Yes the R8 should be worried because by the time this car hits the market the R8 will be somewhat old news, like the SLR is against the 599GTB.

I love the idea of the SLC, a vehicle for MB to channel what would be considered too outrageous in the SL.
