Second I do understand their decision (although I don't agree as a fan and BMW enthousiast). Due to the economic situation profits have become more important then brand image, thus eliminating the CS concept for production can be understood. Big mistake of BMW, developping M versions of X5 and X6. Money wasted on those might have kept production CS alive (mind you I use 'might'). Same goes for X1 (rubbish) and the mini crossover (even bigger rubbish even when it's smaller ). But appparently it's to late to come back on some decisions made before the crisis emerged which is a pitty. Third point, as said before lots of times in this thread nor Scott nor EnI are to blame here. We are very happy cause they bring us good information and thanks to them there are lots of things we now quite early (maybe when we shouldn't already now them). If it happens that the info turns out to be wrong, or better that the info is being changed from right to wrong it is not their mistake, and we should really not attack them for something they don't control!. I think I'll start crying now, no CS that sucks! |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Preview: 2009 BMW four-door GT Wow. Usually I wouldn't comment, but I've been part of this forum since WAY WAY back in the GCF days and this is ridiculous. I read the first few posts and some random posts here and there and I'm shocked. Not shocked that the CS isn't going into production, but with the reactions of some members here... there has been personal attacks and has extended as far as death threats against unknown individuals. Get a grip people, times are changing. People are loosing their jobs worldwide, some are getting bankrupt, some don't even know how to support their families for the coming days, and your all worked up over a freaking car that 98% (well probably 99.8% given the financial crisis) of us wouldn't even purchase anyway? Yes it got cancelled, I'm saddened, but given the financial crisis, the oil crisis, the environmental crisis etc,, it is the people and the companies that move with the times that survive and make the best of a bad situation. So many times have companies been closed, simply because they couldn't move with the times. If your still crying foul over this GT situation despite all the problems going on in the world, you seriously need to sit down and take a look at your life. Or at least sit down and thank your lucky little stars that you don't seem to be affected as much as other people. |

In some ways, we're saying the same thing. The car is not a priority. BMW dont 'need' another flagship. Especially as the F01 looks like it will be successful anyway. Im sure you'll know that traditionally, BMW have resisted competing in the segment range above the 7 (where MB has the SL, CL and such for example) just for image reasons.

![]() | Re: BMW CS Concept Based Production Version Officially Cancelled!! Sad ![]() but not unexpected ....an obvious casualty of the current situation. I wonder if the new Merc Gullwing and 4-door cabrio will suffer a similar fate?

![]() | Re: Preview: 2009 BMW four-door GT This is my first post in the forum, I have registered for 2 years.Today I have to say I felt very very disappointed for the decision made by BMW of cancelling CS production.I have waited for her unveiling since the conception debuted, but the dream seems never come true right now. What a miserable day for me. |
