I just think it comes across as rather "smug" when we get various teasers and snippets of information, little pictures here and there (see the Z4 FEP thread for what I am talking about) from certain members, dangling the carrot in front of our eyes, and they are quite happy to revel in the kudos and credit they receive when they make predictions and statements on the future, yet when things change and it turns out to be wrong they don't like the criticism.

No MB will not go bust soon Artist... but check this out:
German MB factories closing for a month (Dec to Jan) due to low productions
Alabama plants working 4days/32hours a week, plus they are offering to buy people's contracts out
Not sure about this but Maybach sales are probably plummeting as well

My point is, EVERYONE is suffering right now. I don't know why you think that MB are the only ones invincible to this and everyone else are being too conservative.

Yea for sure, every car nut out there would love to every car be at least 500 bhp, have a quad turbo in a hot hatch...

Like I said, I would love to see the CS and CSL... but unless you know what kind of financial state the car industry are in, the HUGE budget cuts for this year, the layoffs from pretty much every company... then you'll understand the severity of the year 2008

First of all.. do you know why you feel that your in the middle of a tornado?
When shit goes down.. major shit like this..
And the majority is pissed.. it is VERY wise not to go in and defend the reason to the shit storm.. ( no matter how valid your reasons might be..) you just end up getting on ppls nerves..

And for the rest.. i didnt say that MB are invincible.. they will probably take a larger hit than BMW..but i dont expect them to scrap all exciting stuff for the coming 3-5 years.. if they do.. ohh man ile bitch and moan until i die..

And about my comment that BMW are lucky to have you guys that defend them.. even when there is no defence ( or when the time for defence is not right)...
I still stand by that comment..

The snippets are all they can show or that's all they want to show. They aren't going to bring you along through the whole development phase. To some people (you aren't one of them as I can see), it's better than nothing. I'm sure there are plenty people on here that find these informations useful. Personally, I love knowing when a car might be potentially unveiled. They are usually pretty accurate about that.

I don't know why Scott or Eni should be getting heat for all this. It's not like they decided to pull the plug on the CS project... which only happened recently

Haha when I said shit storm, I meant the shit storm called the car industry, not a thread in GCZ. To put it bluntly, I couldn't care less what people think of me here, I'm not going to lose sleep over it. I really do have much bigger things to worry... such as the future of Plant Spartanburg.

All I'm trying to do is show you where BMW might be coming from... I'm standing in there right now and have a view that most of you guys don't. It's so easy to stand there and they should build these models and such, without knowing the conditions inside the company. All i'm trying to do is show a thing called... perspective.

Now before I go on and reveal way too much information... I'm going to leave it at that.

But be carefull, in times like these ppl take you for your words..( or even for things you havent said)..and then it comes back to bite you in the ass..

As we can see with this other half of the discussion going on in this thread..

Thats why i told you..when ppl are so hopelessly dissapointed..they dont want to hear your reasoning..
All they want is.. either a sullotion which will give them what they lost or better..

haha thanks man. But let me make something clear. I'm not trying to defend anything... I'm just as gutted as you guys that the CS is not going to make it.

What got me worked up was the whole thing about why BMW had all these "useless" cars (that are production ready if I may add) yet the CS got axed. Simple economics
