Can we blame America and their crisis for this?

BMW has lost its mind completly. CS production modle was the most interesting thing they have thought for ages, and now this.

Instead of this we get that chunky X1, and a surely boring PAS taht likes nobody.

And be sure about this: THE NEXT DECEPTION WILL BE THE M5.

He said the car would come 100% less than a week ago. Loooooooong after the crisis started.

Last minute changes? Being forced to decide so?

the CS was ugly anyway so, be happy the Z4 is coming next week.

We can blame America for pretty much everything, but let's discuss that @ Curb Zone

Mind that due the integrity of the company bad news are not spread among the employees via internal notes like the good news are. Bad news are more complicated to communicate - especially due to obligation to the investors. Therefore all the bad news are usually kept in the offices in the top floors of BMW Tower - until they are revealed on a press conference.

The only bad news I managed to get was the forecast for 2009 (red numbers!).

Sorry, but as a messenger I usually only get the good news & the hype. D'uh! It's a Creative Marketing after all. Which marketing delivers bad news actually? None!

Whats suprising is that this isnt supposed to be a high volume model and already has an existing donor platform (F01 i believe) and i personally dont believe this would have impacted on BMW resources as much as it sounds, economic crisis or not.

In another sense, it shows the realism of decisions car makers have to make these days which fans here are not sensitive too. Another example is the current CLC which people moaned about how MB 'facelifted' rather than developing an all new model. At the end of the day, tough decisions have to be made. AND not by what 'fans' want, but economic realities and and predicted CUSTOMERS response to retain profitability

What is left there to say. I am deeply dissappointed, too, about this project. I just can see why BMW has to compete with TOYOTA about who makes the most efficient city car. Who cares about it. BMW is supposed to be a sports premium car manufacturer. Efficient Dynamics, hell yes, bring them on. Efficient cars are not a bad thing. But this project i, is...

After CSL and GT7 (or whatever the hell it would be called) what can we expect to be axed? The M cars, or everything with a more than 1.8cc engine and a fuel consumption of more than 5l/100km?



PS. As a BMW brand fan, i am beginning to loose my faith...
