Chris Bangle beats said journalist to death with bread sticks over this dreadful attempt at showcasing BMW design.

The idea of the car is great - I'd buy one in a second.

However, the author of those images should have his hands removed. Sad mish-mash of aspects of a bunch of other models tacked onto a z4. X5 headlights? Some people will look at those and think the car is a joke, regardless of the description. Annoying. And it's already happened right here.

So like, fully, Doooods! When's the new twin turbo, folding metal roof SAV sports roadster version of this car coming out? It's a model in the line-up that BMW surely can't be without.

You mean to tell me they're going to offer something like this as well as a convertible 1er?

Z2 would be to the 1er, as Z4 is to the 3er.

Your logic would mean the Z4 and the 3er convertible cancel each other out as well, which just isn't the case.

It's been well discussed over the last 6 months that the Z4 is going to be enlarged in it's next incarnation, which would leave room for a smaller roadster - the Z2.

Autozeitung speculation:

There lines in that car that end nowhere, the mirrors are very "PSA" and the whole front end doesn't look new, it looks like was design in the 90's, hope bmw doesn't build it like that...

Is the Z2 still coming out?

My gut feeling is yes but not in 2010 maybe 2012 or something!

I think its nice. Is it good for drifting?
