This thing with BMW is really annoying. We have to wait for everything, from a totally new model to unveiling a car we already know about at a car show...

This corporate politics are geting little on my nerves ..As far I can tell,CS concept brought so much attention to BMW that almost makes no sense to not make an production version ASAP(2-2,5 years max)

I agree it's too long, but to make something special, extraordinary, something completely new and of high class, it takes some time of course.

I say better wait and get what you've been waiting for, then hurry up and get half of it...

It's gonna be a looong wait anyways...

Imagine the world without BMW creative marketing - nobody wouldn't talk about BMW until the car is introduced via press release.

Do you think some spy photographers wait hours near the BMW FIZ parking industrial lot to catch the new models? Nope. Usually they get "a hint" when & where to go to snap a particular model.

And then we have Scott & his little helpers.

So that's what makes waiting so long

Off course: Creative marketing and "debate = maximum publicity", but still 5 years is a long time

It is too damn long time period to wait..2-2,5..maybe even 3 years would be more acceptable IMO..They´ve throwed almost completed car out and now they want us to wait half of decade to see it on roads..BMW should speed things around CS..This is my heart speaking,so don´t take this to be my exact point of view..I just can´t be calm when CS is subject of comments and opinions..sorry

While waiting for the CS there will be the new 7er which i suspect borrows many design cues from the CS.

Right..it will be on CS´s design course(more elements they implement,the better)..I´m quite sure about that

It was the same case with CS1 & Z9 GT Concept. Even with xCoupe.

Z9 GT was showed in September 1999 (in Frankfurt), while the production car based on Z9 - the 6er coupe - went on sales in September 2004! So 5 years later!

CS1 Concept was showed in February 2004 in Geneva, while the production car based on CS1 (1er cabrio) will be available in Spring 2008. So, 4 years later!

BMW xCoupe Concept showcasing SAC segment was shown in Detroit in January 2001, while the first SAC (X6) is coming 7 years later - in early 2008.

BMW sure does have habbit to tease general population for long period of time with their concept cars and then maximize their influence on serial models From company´s point of view it makes perfect sense to do accordingly..to test ppl´s responses and critics..And ,from other hand,it leaves us,car fanatics,in unbeareble waiting process in expectations
