I do see a lot of the 8 in the design theme much more than I thought (But I also see more Charger than I thought). The wheels are to die for! Here is the profile of the 2007 Dodge Charger. It might not be as sophisticated in design as the BMW concept but it is very aggressive looking! ![]()

As I said before, this car has a lot of old 8er coupe in its' silhouette. That was hands down my most favorite BMW design of all time until this CS concept appeared. It also looks to me as if BMW has fast foward automotive design to a whole new time and place again, especially with the way all of the technologies are expressed (the headlights, taillights, etc.). I'm very captivated by the scalloped kidney grilles that give this car an even more domineering/breath taking presence. From the E65/66 7er to this concept with "flame design" still the guiding principle behind both designs, BMW has come a long long way on the coherency of these ideas. This car looks so resolved it really takes you back to the beginning of all of this, putting into perspective BMW's mission for their new design idiom. All the panels on the CS concept come together with no obnoxious panel gaps whatsoever, something that's hard not to find on the current generation of BMW's. If this is a sign of things to come from BMW then I freely embrace it with my all. I also say with this, Audi will quickly loose it's leadership in quality automotive design for the 21st century. While Audi makes very beautiful cars, they also design cars with no ambitions for the future. Here BMW has accomplished that with great success; everything makes sense and even greater, there's balance. In comparison to the Aston Martin Rapide, there is no comparison. The CS is a design from scratch, the Rapide an elongated DB9. What more can be said? |

For instance look at the "Leaked" RFK illustrations and compare the roof design especially at the rear with the CS and look at the headlight shape and how the top edge of the bonnet meets the kidney grille and surround. The rear from the exhaust cut outs and the shape of the rear lamps is a very good illustration of the X6 Sport Activity Coupe as is the shape of the glasshouse except this shape will be a quarter light. The Wide Grille and surface work on the shoulder and flanks is pure F01 the next 7er As is the interior console - The Alloy wheel design will be seen on the 745i the Twin-Turbo V8 powered 7er sedan Just as you can get the wheels seen on the Z4 Coupe concept on th regular Coupe but have lost the Gun-metal finish. If the Car is chosen to be put into Production (BMW are quite buoyed by the approval and favourable quotes the Concept CS has been given) Then you will know the answer if there is Media days or extensive articles in the Worlds motoring press . BMW will also showcase The Concept CS for a European Audience at the IAA in Frankfurt in September. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: BMW unveiled "Concept CS" ! alright, I was already going to IAA, but this really does it IAA is going to be greeeaaaaat!!btw, just saw my favourite part: The roof. Like Scott said, we alreay saw that double hump on the roof on the impression of the RFK, or the Z4 coupé for that matter. But I love how it intrudes into the windscreen in the centre, above the rearview mirror. sweet

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: BMW unveiled "Concept CS" ! the 745' of the 80's is back! 8er, 745 turbo BMW is playing it phoenix style it is using every controversial element (starting with the 2002 clamshell bootlid) until every single revolution it has ushered, and molding them brutally into something excessively controversial, yet aggressive, sexy and purely hedonisticaly artistic ripe not just for the 21st century, but set to become classic design icons which will be studied in colleges for years to come! my national ego is getting huge! the F01 is a local production! |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: BMW unveiled "Concept CS" ! The F01 design would have been finalised sometime mid-2005. So that would mean that BMW has started this new design evolution 2 years ago. I wonder what ideas they're comming up with in the new F10 for 2010- i bet that at the rate they're developing, the design would just be breathtaking.
