The Ocean Drive Concept looked like a Bentley/GM product -- this BMW concept looks like an Aston Rapide rip-off.

I expect more from BMW than this.

I do quite like this CS concept ..but I am disappointed with the lack of originality. I am also concerned at how all three big German manufacturers seem to be all looking for new identities. Daimler Chrysler seems to be looking to General Motors for inspiration (God help us) and BMW have blatantly imitated Aston Martin.

In what way did they imitate Aston ?

Haha! Well i'd say that it's 1:0 for BMW since they "copy" the most beautiful car in the world.

Rob, this is only a concept, there will be changes, be sure. But i agree it looks very similar to Aston Martin (side profile most) and at the same time i don't have anything against that.... But imitation is a hard word. I don't think that BMW needs to imitate or copy anyone, they have their own style, which others imitate and you know that.

I see it rather as more Z8 + curent 7 series + 8 series + Dodge rather than AM.

Neither the Hofmeister kink nor the roof line going down to be cut, are AM trade marks.

Do I really have to give you an example ...just check out the Rapide concept. If BMW wanted to create Astons, why didn't they bid for it last month?

I agree, although i hate the car, i don't see the aston influence or imitation.
