It's another case of VAG overlap where I can't see what the new product brings to the table other than the caché of a luxury brand at a fire-sale price. I'd rather see Audi indulge itself in another A2/A-Klasse type vehicle. I'm curious to see how this resoves itself, but I don't expect anything more than a half-assed Audi.

But I fear it might do more harm than good to Audi taking the brand and the Audi design cues too down market. I don't know how enthused an A8 owner will be at the prospect of parking next to a $15K car that shares the grill with his $100K car. Also not sure how many people need AWD in a little city car - AWD is just going to bump up the price and take up more space - looks like the wheelbase is much shorter than the Mini. |

The silver throws the design off for me and distorts the proportions. But other than that, it's cute car. And I don't say "cute" very often, especially refering to a car. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Audi A1 Metroproject Quattro Concept I agree with Shongqiz. This car is just... another Audi, with no special inspiration at all. It looks as boring as the new A4, and for a subcompact like that it is a major flaw. It is not cute at all, it has Fiat 500 accents without beeing such a smile-inspiring car. I hate this way Audi has to make ALL their cars loks exactly the same. A brand identity is good. But here it is clearly much too much. They rounded a bit an A3, inclined the rear like a 500, and that's it... The interior is coming from the A3, meaning boring and bad-looking (but well-build, which in this category has no importance at all). You can't use the same recipe and the same ingredients for all your cars! I mean, there is almost no suspense when a new Audi is released, you have the feeling you have already seen it! The only beautiful Audi is the A5, even the TT has been watered in the 2nd generation. This A1 will sell, of course, but won't be a big big hit outside Germany I think... BTW, the actual A2 is so much better-looking, inside like outside... I love that fresh, original, but very Audi look. It shows an Audi can look different but keep beeing an Audi. |
