Don't worry Matt...Ford won't sell the next Mondeo in America. At least not as a Ford, but, probably as the next Volvo S60.

Besides, Ford is doing well in Europe. Specially here in UK.

If its anything like those WCF pictures it would seem that Ford is coppying BMW Audi and Mercedes. The fender flares are directly from the S class. The line across the handles and towards the tailights is a direct copy from the 3 series and the front spoiler is very Audi like...

Those brands don't have a copyright on any of those things. None of those design elements are so distinctively 'one brand' that you could accuse anyone of copying.

Fender flares, front spoilers and lines where the handles are have all been around for ages.

I would have thought Americans would love a slightly smaller car (though the best selling passenger cars are the US-Accord and the Camry, which aren't exactly Yank tanks) with perhaps better quality and better fuel economy, but apparently petrol isn't quite expensive enough for them, yet. The time may yet come.
