Yes, the side profile is not the prettiest. It is always difficult to make a small car look elegant or fast because there is not a lot of "depth" the designers have to play with. Hence almost all small cars look chubby.
But the interior looks refreshing and pretty. Much better than the one in Artega GT. I see the Artega GT as the Lotus' main rival.
I hope the next Esprit will incorporate some design elements of the Giugiaro-designed original Esprit. I am quite fond of the hard lines of the Esprit. The hard lines gave the Esprit a chiselled and distinctive look.
I always thought that the Esprit should look more like the Lamborghini Countach. Both shared similar design language but Gandini did a better job with the Lamborghini.
