Some yummy rumors.. Okay, to clear up the confusion about AMG, I visited there facilities today and they are working very hard on several new models. HWA/AMG have plans to build a small range of AMG badged sportscars, they will be what McLaren should have been to Mercedes and will give a perfect counterpart to Maybach. The plans for the C111/C112/CLK GTR successor are in early planning as of right now and could take ona third partner in development, shall I dare say it PAGANI! The working progress with AMG-Pagani are better then ever, and why wouldn't Pagani/ Mercedes-AMG plan a sportscar that would use a different engine for this new model. Pagani was instrumental in the design and build of he Chrysler ME4-12 concept, so why wouldn't Mercedes-AMG plan to build a hypercar with them, that would infact cut cost on bnoth Pagani ad Mercedes-AMG. Pagani would build the C9, while HWA would recieve the carbon fiber monocoque chassis from Pagani in Italy and build the completely unique body panels of carbon fiber. This hypercar would be alot like Ferrari's exclusive sportscars such as the 288 GTO, F40, F50, Enzo, and FX150/FX70, and would be replaced in a timed fashion. The other AMG badged sportscars such as the CLK DTM successor, the SLC Gullwing, and the Black Hammer would be marketed as a unique brand all it's own!!!!
While I was at the AMG Facilities, I saw a Pagani prototype, which says that Pagani is working very closely with AMg on the devleopment of the C9. I can tell you all the new chassis is alot wider and slightly longer in the wheelbase then the Zonda, and it will be a great car. I didn't get a chance to take a peek at the engine, but they did start it up and I will have to say the exuast note will be great once it hits the streets. The car is alot lower then the Zonda production model thats what gave it away first of all. I also heard the plans to reveal the car at slated for Geneva Autoshow in March, so come March I will be in Geneva to see it upclose! Also while at the AMg facility, I heard more rumors of a smaller Pagani that would be base on a the Zonda carbon fiber monocoque and powered by the 5.5 liter supercharged V-8 producing 575 BHP, this engine is NOT the same engine that will be in the C9, it will be closer to the engine found in the CLK DTM. How much of this rumor is true, is to be seen soon, but I thought I should report it since it's news to me!!!!!

I commented about that Chrylser ME4-12 thing more than a year ago. What I heard back then was that the C9 would have alot of things in common with it. But Marco discarded it if I remember correctly.
Either way, I'm super stoked on seeing this in the flesh. | | | | | Executive

More rumors from the same guy: Pagani's C9 is well into development, and should be shown at the Geneva Autoshow in March. My source told me this thanks to the statement given to him by a spokesperson for Pagani, stating the C9 will be the "Winds of Change" the name is rumored to be El Nino as have done alot of digging as of late on this news and if this is true, then expect a supercar powered by the SLR 722 5.5 liter supercahrged V-8 producing 700 BHP, and 627 lbs feet of torque, ina car that will weigh in at roughly 2500 lbs. The cars chassis will be made of carbon fiber and kevlar, expect new subframes made of titanimum ans carbon fiber. The car will be slightly wider and longer then the Zonda, but still lighter thanks to the use of new composites and a smaller lighter engine then the AMG V-12's of the Zonda. If all goes well with the C9, Pagani has plans for a entry-level sportscar powered by a AMG tuned 570 BHP version fo the SLR's engine. But thats not the crazy rumor that I have heard as of late from Pagani, Pagani could actually be planning a front engine GT roughly the size of the Ferrari California, powered by a AMG V-8, possibly supercharged also, and prodcug 660 BHP. This GT would be a 2+ model alot like the California, with a cabriolet version to come later as well as faster models that will possibly peak at the 700 BHP version namely F version of this engine, which will be the base engine for the C9. Rumors suggest that this car would be developed with the help of Mercedes-AMG, so I'm guessing it will be based on the CLK DTM successors chassis or Pagani could actually build a carbon fiber monocoque with connecting front and rear crash structures/sub frames.
PS
Take these with a fist of salt..
But that name thing can be for real though
Pagani El Nino
Pagani Nino.. i think i can live with that ...
Imma check with my sources if there is any truth behind the name..
Ile report back ofcourse... | | | | | Fanatic

that rumour of the next pagain featuring a V8 re-surfaces.
I dunno about El-Nino. Its okay but it has been used with other cars before, hoping for something more unique/exclusive. | | | | | Executive
