Are we finally going to get the new Pagani model here in the U.S., is that in the works?

Yes, she (not "it") will have US homologation.

And I don't understand why they call as "new spy" thoose photos wich are very old... Just see the rims in that photos and the ones on the mule on the oval track.

Alby,

Let them believe that.
Let them think those are new pics of the C9 test mule.
Let them say anything about the V8.

I still sit down, watch them and say:

LOL

1) The AMG supercharged three-valve V8 engine may have charm and torque in abundance but it is now old technology and well passed its used-by date in terms of size/packaging, fuel economy, and emissions.

2) Horacio Pagani told the UK car magazine EVO two years ago that the next Pagani (the C9) would use a Mercedes V12 engine. There have been no news or rumours that Mercedes-AMG has stopped development of the V12 engine in the past 24 months. But the focus over the past 24 months has been on the new 6.2 litre V8 engine and its turbocharged derivatives in the pipeline.

3) Also, recent shots of the Pagani testing mule is no smaller in size than the current Zonda and that would suggest to me that there is a V12 engine in the testing mule. A weight-obsessed engineer such as Horacio Pagani would no doubt engineer the C9 to be shorter, smaller, and lighter if it uses a smaller V8 engine.

4) The two close up pictures that you see of the Pagani C9 testing mule in the carpark was actually a C9 mule being hot-weather tested by AMG engineers in Arizona. Compared to the current Zonda, the testing mule has much bigger air intakes for the radiators in the front and also big Ferrari F430-inspired air intakes in the rear for the engine. All these point to a BIG engine in the mule. A V8 would need less number and smaller air intakes.

5) If the Pagani C9 is going to use a V8 engine, I think the prime candidate will be the current 6.2L V8 with turbochargers.

Furthermore, a V8 engine will demote the C9 to the class of the Audi R8, Lamborghini LP560-4, and Ferrari F430 in the image stakes.
To add something else:

1-) V8 doesn't give the same massive torque the actual V12 7.3l has in the Clubsport version:

2-) Everyone who thinks about a V8 in the C9, forgets that AMG still has a V12 in their engine range...

3-) True, that might be a test mule, but it's definitely longer and wider: would be stupid to fit a V8 inside such a big and wide space under the rear hood, and those air intakes on the side... What about intercoolers?

4-) Not Arizona, should be Spain. Later the mule was spotted in South Africa.

5-) The Pagani C9 will never use a V8, believe me.

And don't worry, you cannot put such a piece of art near an Audi R8, Porsche 997 Turbo, F430 or LP-560. It's like painting the Mona Lisa with spray cans.

One thing came to mind. If Mr Pagani does decide to broaden his range of cars (since he has expanded his production facilities in anticipation for sales to the United States), why not produce a C9 that is powered by the forthcoming AMG twin-turbo 6.2L V8 engine.

I think this will be a nice idea if you don't mind me saying so. The AMG twin-turbo V8 engine will pay homage to the original Le Mans winning Sauber-Mercedes C9 as it was powered by a Mercedes M119 twin-turbo V8 engine.

The V8 version of the Pagani C9 should not be positioned as below the V12 version. But as a more focused and sporting version with lighter weight and (slightly) superior handling qualities than the big brother V12 engined C9.

But Clubsport is correct in saying that using a V8 engine for the top of the line C9 would indeed be like painting the Mona Lisa with the spray can.

I know I'm being greedy here. But I think Mr Pagani should take inspiration from the Sauber Mercedes C291 or C292 for his next masterpiece. Without the bland aerodynamic-driven front-end of course.

I don't think the spirit of an old Sauber C9 is inside the engine architecture. Pagani cars are inspired by that cars only for their character and aesthetics.
And, as Clubsport said, all the decisions are done, so all we have to do is wait...
