I'm either going with a MINI diesel or a Honda Hybrid next year. I really hope the diesel is coming here in 2009.

i have heard from people who are driving the mini diesel extremely environmental friendly, that they were able to achieve a MINImalistic consumtion of 3,3L/100km

i guess this would have made mini fans furious, thats like a porsche diesel(i know sooner or later...).
there was already a huge protest after bmw had given up the supercharged S in favor of a silent turbo charged version.
(a supercharged S could actually consume up to 18L/100km)

^^I dont think BMW cares. As of August, MINI sales are up 34%. They sell every last one of them they bring here. I really want to know if this MINImilism bit is in regards to the Crossman or a more efficient Cooper. -Sigh-

i don't know if i understand you right
MINImalism is present in every MINI (at least in europe) (meaning start and stop system).
the "crossman" (as far as i have read) should take it a step further with a some sort of hyprid (+diesel ?) system

Yes, I guess that a diesel hybrid would make a lot of sense in a car like the Mini.
