vab, my friend, you're absolutely right.
What i wanted to say is that BMW simply cannot allow themselves to produce (design wise) very desirable and kick @$$ handling car, under their control, that drives like a true BMW for 2/3rds of 1er's price; main reason why they won't and must not do that is Mini's FWD configuration, plus such move would be disastrous for what concernes making money out of their stuff which is their main goal.
Things may change though, after the SUV version hits the dealerships...
