Mercedes and AMG have been involved in DTM for years, but I really didn't take notice of the series until my interest in F1 waned. Has AMG been producing limited editions of the DTM cars for the past few years? This CLK-DTM is the first I've seen available in street trim. I don't think I've ever read about the 1990s DTM, Klaus Ludwig driven cars being released in limited edition for road use. |

| Re: Mercedes-Benz CLK-DTM AMG I think the 190 EVO II was a DTM derivative, not totally sure though. As far as the engine was concerned it was in close cooperation with Cosworth, but I'm sure AMG had a hand in other aspects of the car as well. |

| Re: Mercedes-Benz CLK-DTM AMG I forgot about the EVO II. It was based on the DTM, but not a near identical version like the CLK-DTM. I can only find limited edition DTM cars from 2004 and 2005 available for sale to the general public. I think I'd buy the DTM instead of the street legal CLK-GTR. The GTR was said to be near undriveable without the electronics. Of course, the lingering memories of the CLK-GTR doing cartwheels down the Mulsanne Straight at Le Mans doesn't help. |
