Exceptional work Christian. Photography is superb... you should be working for MB in marketing or publc affairs. Have you sent them some portfolios? You are a natural for a photo-journalist position somewhere.

Impressive presentation!

Thanks Jack.

One of these days when I got some serious stuff to show I will definitely write them. Right now I am thinking that this graphic artist education I am receiving can help me develop and hone my artistic skills for the better. Plus I am also getting top photography lessons here and am learning new things everyday!

Also saving up for a better Nikon camera since my trusted D40 is a little weak when it comes to compensating higher shutter speeds with higher ISO values. I hear that isn't quite the case on a better Nikon DSLR.

An awful lot of discussion on high ISO and shutter speeds contributing to noise on DPreview. Up to 3200 ISO and some good Noise Reduction images I have seen have been excellent.

Good luck in your studies... you certainly have the "eye" and that is apparent with your steady improvement.

Re: ***C-Class DTM Exhibition + AMG's @ Mercedes-Benz Munich****

Here are some tests I did after I got the 50D. I can remember a short time ago where shooting at ISO 400 was a problem. Both of these had Neat Image noise reduction but it is really the IS that allows the slower shutter speeds to provide a sharp image.

This was shot at ISO 1600. Image Stabilization allowed for very slow shutter speed and good DOF. 1/8 sec at f/7.1.

This at ISO 1600. 1/125 sec at f/7.1

Awesome photos as usual wimmer!!

Wouldn`t you agree the CLS63 looks a million times better in the metal than in photos? Every time I see a CLS in sport package form, it really grabs my attention with the affect of never letting go until it fades out of site.

That's incredible! At ISO 1600 and there is hardly any noise detectable in the photo!

A question for you. What good is a 10-22mm lens? Sounds pretty weak in terms of reach. Is that for macro-photography?

I completely agree. It's funny how in the photos the new mirror designs of the facelifted CLS looks a bit hideous, but in real life and up close they look pretty sleek and sexy.

Very clean for 1600... how about one at ISO 3200? These are in pretty good light and shot at 1/2000 at f/8. But it is 3200 ISO which blows my mind. Taken with the 70-200mm f4L IS. A single run thru Neat Image in PP plus the normal workflow.

The 10-22mm wide zoom is great for interior shots, landscapes and architecture. The Canon EF-S 10-22mm has great resolution and sharpness to the edges. Macro lenses are usually 60mm to 100mm or so and allow focusing down to several inches from the subject. I posted this macro shot elsewhere earlier... 1/3 sec at f/8, ISO 100.

Re: ***C-Class DTM Exhibition + AMG's @ Mercedes-Benz Munich****

This was shot with the EF-S 10-22mm f/4. 13mm at 1/500 @ f/4... ISO 1600!

No PP wimmer, JPG out of the camera and resized. 100% shows some noise but I did not use NR in PP and NR was off in the camera. Had I processed this to get detail in the front and side of the SL, then I would need NR.

Nice avatar Jack, really fits you and contributions here. How many miles on the SL now?
