Interesting question...

For me the answer is quite easy...

Mercedes-Benz G55 Amg.

30 years old and still unmatched. Really looks the part. Never found any other all-terrain or suv with half its appeal. Now that is charisma, stature and authority!

Re: Mercedes-Benz At The Detroit Auto Show 2008

And I agree with Rob for been murderous just as everyone has been of the X3's design... They are both rubish and don't in anyway suit the target market... The X3 is just ugly whereas the GLK is boastfully ugly... The GLK looks like the parameters of the design was only and I mean only use a set square and ruler... It has no organic flow. it looks like a lego car to me... Not a fan of any luxury compact SUV out at the moment and none of them are better then the other...

Lets hope the Audi Q5 changes the ugly styling trend.. I think it will

Sorry but it's the only suv I would consider. I usually don't like them at all, but I love the G...

For the compacts... the GLK is imo the bewst looking.
I have nothing against the new Honda CRV, the Land-Rover Freelander is also not ugly (preferred the previous one though, in 2 doors of course).

However none of them interest me, I really am no SUV-fan!

Non-descript ugly refers to the X3

Boastfully ugly means ugly that stands out like a sore toe

And, read, I have stated they all come dead last, I won't choose one over the other because neither deserve to be choosen as better designed then the other!!!

The new X3 needs to step up the level of this segment - It's rubbish at the moment
