![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | My visit to the MB showroom ![]() Well what can I say. It was impressive. It is my favourite showroom because the salespeople always lets us see the cars at our own time, without pestering us. And all (or most) of the cars are unlocked so you can practically jump into any one and check them out. The showroom is also huge, so it's always empty and quiet. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() My intention today was to see the CL, but in the end I spent more time with the C-Class. I also sat in the S-Class again to see what I was missing in the A8. ![]() ![]() ![]() First - the CL. What a beauty! Because it's an extremely expensive they locked it up but the exterior more than maked up for it. Even without the AMG package it looks very luxurious and just rich. I could see a person driving a CL with extremely good taste. It's really one of Mercedes's best efforts, I like it. ![]() ![]() ![]() After the CL I went to the C-Class. This car really did it for me to convince me that MB is finally back in the game. The interior feels fantastic and solid, I just like this car so much. It was just the C180 and the C200 I was seeing, both base models, and what I like is that they are already so much good, loaded with excellent options. MB is just not the same anymore. They are leaner, more responsive to market trends and very competitive now. My dad says "I think I'll have to look at Mercedes again" after seeing how much progress they have made with the new cars. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The S-Class again... Gorgeous interior! I must admit... The backseats are dead fantastic. They are miles ahead of the A8's comfort and it really feels like a lounge inside there. The interior lighting, the vanity mirrors, the reading lights... It all seemed to be honed from many generations of trial and error, to perfection. The A8 just seems to be so new in the game, and while good at what it's doing, it's still missing a few tricks its big brother the S-Class has. I must bow down to this car. ![]() ![]() ![]() Very impressive Mercedes. You got me in love with the 3 pointed star again!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: My visit to the MB showroom Very nice photos mate, thanks James. Is this entire building just for MB? This showroom is absolutely massive, there isn't anything like it in Australia, or in Sydney. I thought my local MB dealership was impressive, it has nothing compare to this. I had my visit to the MB showroom not so long ago (will post photos soon), and saw the new C-class and the CL. I have to say, after seating inside the C-class and jumping straight into the CL, the CL interior doesn't really feel that much more expensive than the C-class. Maybe it is the black on black colour combination of the CL interior, or maybe the C-class interior is really that good. The CL I saw is silver as well, the CL looks very impressive on the road, but it isn't quite so when I was looking at it inside the showroom. I agree with you that the backseat of the S-class is just so dam comfortable. I had a chance to jump in the backseat of a LS 460 in the Sydney motorshow, and it isn't as comfortable as the S-class.

Yes the entire building is for MB... I believe it's the biggest showroom in Southeast Asia, and it's one of the MB Centres (or whatever they call them) of the world. Interesting comment about the CL's interior. I haven't sat in it yet, will do so once I convince my dad to get a test drive. He's afraid to trouble the sales reps when he's not so serious yet. But yes I can really see the C as my future car, the A4 would really have to be a very very good car to top this. I wouldn't even pay the 3er a second look based on first impressions. Don't know about the drive and I wouldn't really care especially with those excellent C seats! Actually I do find the LS's and the S's class rear seats to be equally comfortable... Perhaps, the LS one a bit more comfy because it can be reclined with the leg rests up. But surely, these two cars beat the A8 anytime in terms of comfort. For some reason, the S-Class's interior (and I think the 7er's too) possesses a sense of occasion that seems lacking in the A8's. Maybe it's just the interior colour combination. YES I totally hate that 7G-TRONIC hogwash. It's for people who wanna have their balls shown to the public. That's the first thing I'll remove from my MB if I ever order one.

I think I showed you guys the badge before, I was so appalled when I saw it the first time. You see some lower Benzes get CVTs and 5-speeders, so I guess it's some "badge of honour" to be having 7 gears. ![]()
