The U.S. Market Finally Gets Sportier Options for Various Models!

I hadn't looked on Mercedes USA in quite a while, but I see now we in the U.S. have some of the sportier options on certain models, similar to those presented to European buyers.

E-Class Sport Package:

The Sport Package enhances your E-Class with a front apron, sculpted side skirts, and sport rear bumper with dual exhaust, for a more muscular "exhaust note" that really growls.

Head-turning 18" 10-twin spoke wheels do more than just look great — they're staggered to help you take on the road, as the sport suspension provides more precise handling and greater road feel.

Perforated disc brakes boost stopping power and headlamp washers help make sure you can see what's up ahead.

The exterior of your E-Class with Sport Package is finished with blue tinted glass for added flair, and the interior is accentuated with Black Birdseye Maple wood trim and a Matte Chrome instrument cluster with white gauges. E350 models also include leather upholstery.

CLS55 AMG Performance Package:

Giant brakes with two-piece compound rotors and multipiston calipers have been proven on the Formula One racetrack. The largest AMG tires available for use on the street stylishly enhance performance while showing off the massive brakes. The sport steering wheel is trimmed in high-grip Alcantara, helping you wield the car's power with panache.

SLK55 AMG Performance Package - I particularly like this one:

Upgraded wheels and brakes have been proven on the Formula One racetrack. The AMG sport suspension's Nuerburgring calibration with higher damping rates and firmer front springs is inspired by the world's most revered racetrack. Carbon fiber dresses the cockpit while high-grip Alcantara wraps the steering wheel.

SL55 AMG Performance Package:

Upgraded wheels, tires, brakes, and differential have been proven on the Formula One racetrack. Inspired by the world's most revered track, AMG reprogrammed the Active Body Control (ABC) to a Nuerburgring calibration with 20-percent firmer front and rear damping rates for compression and rebound. Subtly enhanced styling inside and out starts with a front apron design taken from the SL safety car built to pace Formula One races.

I'm so glad to see these options being offered here now. Now I need to see some roadtest by U.S. magazines.
