I happen to agree here!
The R550 seems to be poping up a lot in my nighborhood. I have examined it in the metal and it is quit slick looking. I have yet to see the AMG version.

Yes, they may call it whatever they like, the R is still too minivan/station-waggonish.. that's a new word for you!

I still love the classic lines and total masculinity of the G-class the best, and yes it is BOXY!

The again, some boxes are more attractive and promising than others

Good question HOH!

I believe it's more the proportions than the front. It suggests minivan/station wagon to me

Still, if I were to get one from the list, it would be the G over the others,
not that there is something terribly wrong with either of them;
just my preferred choice in terms of style, function, ride, etc.
