G-Class. It's still the paragon of Mercedes Benz Offroaders...

Mercedes-Benz G-Class all the way!

Come on? Now R-class fans out there?

I would think the ability of the SUV/Crossover would give it some type of advantage.

Ever since seeing the GL driving on the roads...it has become my fav. It's huge but it's so sleek. Plus I'm a realist, we go on long trips some times with like 8 people in our Honda Odyssey van. Keeping that in mind, nothing besides the GL will do for my family..LOL

I'll take this:

GL - Easily the winner in this group, and with a BlueTec diesel, of course. Clean body design, not too boxy, not overly curvaceous, good size, competent, clean interior, room in the third row for real humans.

G - A box. Period. Cool box? Yes, but a box. So is a Scion B.

ML - Looks like the sneaker that came out of the G-box, but improved.

R - Tragic rear-end body lines from Hell.

TagMan

ML - One of the best looking SUVs on the market. Competes equally with the other German competitors.

G - A true legend.

GL - A model that I find a bit unnecessary. Too big and clumsy.

R - What can I say? One of the biggest mistakes MB has made IMO. There's absolutely nothing attractive in this van.

I think come facelift time we're going to see major revisions to the R-Class, much more than the usual lights/fenders/bumpers that the ML and GL will get.
