I drove the new EVO IX today. 4WD, Turbo and 280 hp. The steering is very light, maybe a little too light for me but I think you get used to it after a while. The gearbox is precise and the gears are very "tight", perhaps one of the best gearboxes I ever tried?

Yeah the steering is quite light on the Evo. This makes for a better handling car towards the limit but not as safe of a feel when going down the highway and things like that. I kind of felt the Evo is a better toy for the weekends to drive on the track while the Impreza was the better street car. In terms of reliability from what I've heard Subaru had the edge, and Mitsubishi of America is on rocky ground financially.

Yes; I drive an STi. Is the one they have in Sweden 300 horsepower as well or closer to 280-something like some other Euro nations? I'm not sure what steering rack they have over there either as the one here is heavier with a slower ratio whereas they have the Spec C quick ratios in Japan which are closer to the Evo's setup.

Karma given. It's a track car for the road, just like the Impreza. I would want a more complete car of my own though, a car like this would only suffice for me for my weekends.
