My driving impression: BMW 130i

First I want to say I didnt plan this, I just drove past the dealer so I couldn't resist visiting them. I also had luck that I took the camera with me and the reason for it, I was going to the ocean to take photos or else I wouldnt have photos on the 130i. Im glad I visit BMW at the same time.Click here to read the entire review

I've heard that BMW engineers enginered some sort of trick valve system that opens up under load. I really like the E46 M3's exhuast sound, it's this rich metallic whale. If only something could be said for the E60/63 M5/6. Can only imagine what the E90/1/2/3 M3 will sound like.

I drove the 1er for a coupel of months ago but didn't get to push it to its limit. Besides that it was a 116i. The 130i seem like a clast to drive and the car you(just_me) got to drive is pretty hot, though I wouldn't mind puttin M5 rims on it. Personally I like it more than the Golf. One of my friends have bought a Golf, it is with no doubt a hot and rigid hatch but I'm not so fond of its interior. The interior is pretty solid but gives a cheap feeling and lacks premium feeling.

Great write up, Andreas. I cant wait fo rthis car to come to the U.S. however it wont be in hatchback form but instead a coupe and maybe even a convertable. Well, once I finish college (four years from now) maybe i can pick up a used 135! with the 3.o litre turbo!

Maybe you should wait for the 235, it should be ligher and have superior rigidity, at least by common sense.

Good review and nice to hear that you like it. I've never really been a fan of the 1-series but everybody keep saying how wonderful it is to drive so I can't resist liking it

Nice review. The 130i seems like such a fantastic piece of work. It's such a shame that its WAAAAAYYY overpriced.

This kind of vechicles often are. In Sweden 130i is cheaper than R32 but slightly more expensive than S3.

You do get a good package tough.

However price also has a lot to do with the specifics of the matket raxes:
- like VAT, Import Tax (if case), Engine Capacity Tax, (perhaps) Luxury Car Tax and let's not forget about Emisions Tax (if case).
