Tested car: 123d (204hp/400nm).
It's pretty much the same to car drive. Another excellent diesel engine from BMW but my conclusion is that I still prefer petrol engines over diesel engines. MB CLC 180 - what can I say. I'm not impressed, steering, gearbox, brake feel isnt as good as my car. Only thing I like is the interior materials, it feels softer than in my car but I prefer the interior layout in my car. Good interior materials isnt enough to win me over. I happily keep my babybimmer. C63 AMG -
I like - comfortable seats, acceleration, instant gas throttle, engine sound.
It's a fast car, no doubt, 180km/h in no time. Overtaking cars on the freeway is piece of cake. Engine sound when the reevs gets higher , awesome.
It's a very nice car and I understand if someone wants to own a C63 AMG. My dealer told me he had sold five C63's so far, all men in the age of +40.
The enternal question. If I have the cash, would I pick C63 or M3?
If I was a customer, the M3 still my choice. My M soul is deep so I get more excited behind the wheel of a M. Highreeving engine, manual gearbox/DCT is what I prefer and the driving experience is different, you dont need to be a racingdriver to notice that the character between these two are different.
Again, I completly understand if someone prefer C63 over a M3 but I'm not one of them. | Published by | | | Me for President Join Date: Sep 2005 Location: Sweden

CLC and C63 were in silver and the bimmer in a ugly golden colour. I tried to upload a small pic in my first post but I get a message about some security error bla bla bla bla and that I should contact admin. So I gave up. | | | | | Devotee

The CLC basically feels like an old CL203 Sportcoupe with a slightly improved suspension and steering setup. That's it. I was pretty disappointed too when I testdrove the CLC220 CDI. It doesn't drive badly but it simply doesn't feel special enough to me. | | | | | Me for President

Some C63 thoughts I came to think of.
When I drove the E63 , the gearbox didn't feel as fast as the one in C63. When I did a kickdown with the E63 there was a little delay before the car reacted but with the C63 the gearbox/engine reacted faster, pretty much instantly.
And the ride wasn't terrible as the media have said. At least not on the freeway or a country road. I never drove in the city where the streets often are worse so I cant speak for citydriving. But for me I would have no problem with the suspension in C63, afterall I have M-package on my babybimmer.
The thing I remember the best with C63 are the seats. Very comfy seats, I really liked them. | | | | | Me for President

I echo the same sentiments about the C63's ride. It isn't nearly as harsh or uncomfortable as what the press have been alluding to... and that was on South African roads! | | | | | Fanatic

What did the 123d coupe feel like to drive? I quite like the Coupes And why do BMW not do the 120i in the coupe but in the convertible Or do we just not get it over here in the uk?? | | | | | Review Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | |
