hi toni thank you very much
yes i agree with you the c320cdi must be awesome i was offered to drive one two weeks back but i dint because i knew if i drove it i would do what you did and sell the 220 and buy the 320 .but because i bought it as my daily car and my run around car i ont want to spend the extra money and besides its more economical so ill stay away from the 320 cdi for now or my dad will be in trouble ,,,he will have to fork out the extra money lol...
yes you are right the 270 engine on the e and c i have are fantastic and they are economical and power i also feel a upgraded 270 engine would be a nice car inbetween the 220 and 320 diesels and would be my perfrct choice
regarding the e and c interior
i prefer the c interior in terms off quality off dash and materials i find it more solid ..the e seats are better and has more room but in terms off sitting and the two cars i prefer the c and i no most people dont like the c steering but i like it its defiantely fits well with the rest off the dash and interior and its feels nice and is not ugly when you see it ..only if it were a few milimeters thicker ...

<<I thought the manual gear box was a no no with the advent of the foot break on the new c class>>
That's where Hill Start Assist comes in, formerly call hill holder in US cars around 1950. When stopped on an upgrade holding the foot brake, taking your foot off the brake pedal, the brakes are held for 1-2 seconds, giving you a chance to get moving without rolling back.

Or is this US equipment only? Doubt it.
No it is a standard equipment - not US only. Hill holder is the solution - like you said.
