Naturally BMW rejected the offer and Aston was sold to a consortium led by Dave Richards (includes John Sinders and two Kuwaiti investment companies).

Under the initial Ford conditions: Ford retaining few percents in AM, and having a right of first refusal.
*******
That said: AM are in talks with also some other car makers (not only MB) about engine supply & tech-exchange. BMW included.
Remember BMW CEO Reithofer's words about possible engine & tech supply to third parties? AM has been a possible client.
I havo no fresh info on this issue: whether BMW are still in talk with AM, or AM is now in the "MB phase" of talks.
