We don't have a thread for Maybach roadtests I see. Why should the big guy be left out? Here is one I just stumbled upon about the 57S. Maybach 57S Despite tipping the scales at a palatial 2735kg, the 57S is capable of hitting 62mph from rest in just 5.0sec and dispatching the 50mph-75mph split in a crushingly rapid 3.7sec. Top speed is limited to 171mph, though there’s little doubt that the limousine would haul beyond 200mph when left to its own devices.

Ahh, thanks for that Merc1. I actually saw that video a couple of years ago - it pre-dates the launch of the Phantom. Richard Hammond does seem to really like the car, it certainly looks impressive on the video too - as time has moved on the Maybach doesn't seem so outrageoulsly indulgent as it did at first. I still prefer the Phantom, but the Maybach is a very special vehicle. | | | | | Contributor

I saw one of these on the showroom floor when I was dealing for my S. Kind of breathtaking up close. Detailing was precise. They were having a special announcement of the 57S that evening...saw some pictures later of the event and anybody who was anybody was there.
Also, while waiting for my contract papers to be prepared, the salesman showed me the Maybach Salon. They have all the materials layed out and have this big screen TV that allows the buyer to see his car with his selections as he makes his detailed specs. Everything is custom and measured to exact specs. For $300K + you should get the absolute best of everything they have to offer. | | | | | Trendsetter

Yes thanks Roberto! For some reason I overlook the Maybach thread from time to time. Yes the Maybach 57S does look good doesn't it. I can't help but agree with those that have said this is what the Maybach should have been from the start. The thing is gorgeous in some of these pics.
