Great pics Mirage.
I've always liked the exterior looks of the IV... the interior is another matter. Btw I believe it was the III which used the Citroen suspension. The IV had enough problems without it, mind you. Nevertheless, I wouldn't mind having one of the later V8-engined 3.2-liter IV's (the earlier cars used 2.0 and 2.8 twin-turbo V6s)...

Thanks for clearing that up MikeJ. From your posts I can tell you're really well-versed with classic cars...

I see Quattroporte's of old and new aren't all that different.

I must say, this is a very disappointing car. It seemed as if it was a downgrade from the III; interior materials weren't as good, it felt really conventional and as far as I can remember, it used Citroen's pneumatic suspension which was very problematic.

A very plain interior, lacks much of the sense of occasion from the III.

Rear legroom's just decent.

See what I mean with a downgrade? These door handles look pathetic...

First reminded me of an Alfa.
The Quattroporte IV was designed by Marcello Gandini, the guy who also designed the Lamborghini Countach -- it has his signature rear wheel-arch kink.

I've read about that around - still, I feel the QP IV isn't one of his best works.

Nice car, but it won't defeat the mighty M5.
