Are you looking at the standard trim or the Sport (AMG) trim?
The standard actually looks elegant, more so than the original. | | | | | Fanatic

Personally, I like the FL a lot. The front was a bit weak, the FL corrects it, and the interior seems well improved.
However the AMG hasn't grown on me at all.
I still find it completely awful. Besides the blackened bar (I love this black part on the SLK, the 911 GT2 and above all on the new SL63), which is completely out of place in the ML, the squared and giant low grille looks just...horrible. It's tasteless, in-the-face, ricey and badly integrated in the overall design.
So, very positive for the standard one, very negative for the AMG. For me, of course. | | | | | Advocate

Next week i´m ordering a FL ML 280 CDI, i doubt about a few things:
Will the sport pacage still have darked lights?, i think the non-sport pacage has too red lights.
Is any other steering wheels available?, the FL one is not so pretty.
And last one: Do you think airmatic suspension is important for this car?, i´ve always want to drive a car with it. | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to SKYSONY For This Useful Post: | | | Enthusiast

First let me say congratulations. But let me warn you about some things. I just had this weekend a testcar ML 280 CDI and first if you can spare some extra cash and can handle the costs that come with it go for the ML 320 CDI. The 280 CDI despite it's a V6 is just underpowered for this big monster. It is very refined when driving nicely but soon as you push the car it will rev it real high and the sound is just funny - much like the ML350 - not enough power fo a massive car like this.
As for the steering wheel - I don't know. And for the Airmatic - the standard suspensions is very very good on the ML it will eat potholes and uneven terrain with so little hassle that you think you're riding on a cloud. So if you can spare extra money go for the Airmatic - you certanly won't regret it - but let me just point out that standard suspension is a big +.

Toni | Thanks a lot for your advice, but this is going to be our second car, so, if it was our first, i would go for the 320 CDI. But here in Spain the is a 4.000€ overprice if you go for a 320, wich i think it´s not necesary for a second car, wich really not going to drive.
I´m paying for some nice extras, just as sport package, both interior and exterior, thermotronic (thermatic is just puaj), stribes, xenon... those thing that are not that expensive, and are very usefull.
What i only hope is this care has the level of finish of an X5 or that "more new" cars. The engine also could be not as good as an E 320 CDI or a 3.0 sd. But i think ML is a very good car, and, most important, is a Merc, and my personal experience tell me that i won´t have any problems with it.
Best regards Toni | | | | | Enthusiast

Best regards Toni | You certanly won't have any problems with the car as the far as the engine goes. And the build quality is also very good. You can certanly fell those massive doors when you close them, seats are very comfortable and Xenons are also a big +.
I'm happy for the choices that you made and happy driving. A very good car!

This car's sales is very weak here in UAE compared to the Cayenne (1 year waiting list). RR Sport/Vogue , X5/6. The Lexus LX570 is selling 10K $ over the sticker with almost 1 year waiting list.
A co worker was interested in this car and he owns the old model, the dealer gave him the car for a whole weekend or week I guess which is something they never do ... and they offered him price reduction and some other extras ... | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
