WOW! That car is so fugly it makes Ssangyong designers look like the best designers in the world... ps...whoever made that needs a good ass beating. |

If I understand the article (and a few more articles which it links to) correctly, some Mexican guy called Joan Ferci has the exclusive rights to sell and build(!) Lamborghinis in South America. Apparently the Alar will be shown in a motor show and it will be built in Argentina. It'll be based on a Diablo platform and feature a turbocharged V12 developing 700 hp. They're aiming for a 360 km/h top speed. Here's something he made earlier, the Coatl.  No prizes for guessing which model it was based on. |

Damn...that is just horrible. I feel sorry for that car. I think only bigger idiot then the guy who builds this car is the idiot who's going to pay for it. I wouldn't take that car even if it was free. |

Lamborghini Alar official pics When we first saw the initial rendering of Joan Ferci's Lamborghini Alar, a Diablo-based special that's somehow allowed to retain the Lamborghini nameplate, we knew it'd be pretty ugly. Now, Argentina Auto Blog, the site that brought us the original rendering, has ponied up what are reportedly the first official shots of the car, and it's just about what you'd expect. Looking like the bastard child of a Pontiac Banshee cross-bred with leftover elements from H.R. Giger's original Alien designs, the Alar is, by all appearances, a waking nightmare on four wheels.The hammerhead shark-like nose is particularly weird-looking. Ironically, there are people who go out of their way to build kit cars that look like real Diablos. Here you have a case where perfectly good Diablos will be sacrificed in order to make them look like wacky kit cars. The mind reels.
